In 2011, the Liberty Center Public Library Board of Trustees formed a Policy Committee with the intent of updating and compiling the policies of the library. At their June 27, 2011 meeting the board approved a new set of Board Bylaws, Personnel and Administrative Policies. The Public Services policies were approved at the August 22, 2011 meeting. In 2016, policies of the Library have been again updated.
Loan Policy
When registering to borrow materials, patrons assume responsibility for damages and overdue fines. Most materials may be loaned for 28 days. Loan periods for DVDs and magazines are shorter. Two week renewals are available upon request. An after-hour book return is located outside the building.
The check out limit will be 15 items, including a limit of 3 DVDs, per household will be allowed.
Fines
A 2-day grace period will be allowed for overdue material. A fine of $1.00 per day will be charged for overdue CDs/ DVDs. A fine of $.25 per day on books and magazines overdue after the grace period. Adult borrowers are held responsible for items charged out on their cards. Parents or guardians will be responsible for the payment of charges incurred by their minor children. Patrons owing fines and/or charges will be prohibited from borrowing or utilizing computers.

Reserves
Any library material can be placed on reserve by online account, calling or visiting the library.
Behavior
The library is a public institution belonging to all residents of the Liberty Center school district. Patrons are expected to behave in a mature and courteous manner. Follow this link to read the entire Rules for Public Behavior policy as adopted by the library board of trustees.
Holiday Closing
The library will be closed on: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Friday following Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve Day and Christmas Day.
