Capital Campaign Kickoff

September 20, 2008

The Liberty Center Public Library Board of Trustees is excited to announce the kickoff of a Capital Campaign on Saturday, September 20. The community hosted Fall Festival will be a great time for those in attendance to tour the library and speak with volunteers about plans for completing the unfinished portion of the library.

The community takes great pride in its public library. Ten years ago the library tripled its space. Since then area residents have transformed the library from a place to check out books to our third place. Other than home or work, the library provides a welcoming environment where neighbors find a broader, more creative way to interact with each other. It has become an anchor of community life.

The Board has responded to the needs of the community by identifying several areas to pursue: quiet study space, research material and space for local history/genealogy interests, planned space for older youth, larger meeting room, additional computers, and more books and DVD's. The Board has set a goal of $500,000 to be reached over a period of five years.

The ownership of the public library is shared by all of us. Its ability to grow with the needs of the community depends on monetary gifts of any size. Call Mary Beth Slee at the library 419-533-5721 to get more information about the Capital Campaign, find out how to make a contribution, or learn of other ways you can help with the campaign.
