Services & Resources

Books
Over 25,000 adult fiction, non-fiction, juvenile and paperback books are available for patrons. Large print books are also available for the visually impaired.

Magazines
100 current magazine titles are regularly displayed and circulated. Hundreds of additional periodicals are accessible through Inter-Library Loan. MasterFILE Premier (EBSCOhost), an on-line multidisciplinary database paid for by the State of Ohio, provides more than 1,730 general reference publications with full text information dating as far back as 1975 .

Tax Forms
Local, school district, state and federal tax forms are available at the library at no cost to patrons, or follow links: Federal Tax Forms & Publications, State of Ohio Tax Forms, School District Tax Forms, Municipal Tax Forms. Online income tax preparation assistance is available through the Ohio Benefit Bank.

Newspapers
Several area publications are offered, including: The Liberty Press, Toledo Blade, Northwest Signal, Crescent News, USA Today, Wall Street Journal and Farmland News. Microfilm copies of The Liberty Press may be viewed at the Library on a microfilm reader-printer.

Audio Recordings
Books on tape and CD are offered at the library. Recordings of the Old and New Testaments of the Bible are also available on loan.

Video Recordings
Juvenile and family videos and DVD's are available for a 7-day loan period. Non-Fiction Videos are loaned for 28 days.

Electronic Reference Database
In addition to the electronic databases supplied by the State of Ohio to all public libraries, the Liberty Center Public Library subscribes to two databases for the use of its patrons. CultureGrams compiles up-to-date information on the world's countries and peoples. Heritage Quest provides access to census images and indexes of genealogy and local history articles as well as indexes to family histories.

Meeting Room
A meeting room with a capacity of 30, is available to individuals and groups. It is permissible to use the room outside the normal library hours.

Die Cut Machine
The library has a selection of shapes and letters available for in-house use. We also have access to many other dies through Interlibrary Loan. Jump to Die List>>

Special Collections
The library has narrated slide histories of the Village of Liberty Center, and the fire in 1972 that destroyed the High School building.

OPLIN
The library offers access to the Internet through the state's public library computer network. www.oplin.org

Computers
The library provides "in-house" access to IBM-compatible microcomputers and printers with free Internet service. Software is available for word-processing, spreadsheets, and power point. Four Early Literacy Station units are available in the children's area. These units purchased by the Friends of the Library, are designed for youth ages 2 through 8. The units are loaded with over two dozen educational titles to help our young patrons learn shapes, patterns, phonics, letter recognition, numbers, animal sounds, etc.

Fax Machine
The library offers access to copies of pages from reference sources, periodicals, and printed materials belonging to other libraries. Transmission services are also available for personal or business use for a nominal fee. Our fax number is 419.533.4849

Inter-Library Loan
Through a network of 72 Ohio library systems representing 36 counties, books that do not appear in the permanent collection can be borrowed for our library patrons.

Laminator
Paper and poster lamination services are available.

Photocopier
Photocopy paper sizes are 8 1/2 x 11, 8 1/2 x 14, and 11 x 17. The library can photocopy news articles onto acid free paper for the purpose of preservation. Originals may be copied at the same size, reduced, or enlarged.

The following equipment may be borrowed from the library:
